In the English Studies major, you have the priceless opportunity to enrich your insight into today's culture. Studying literary classics and contemporary works of art in depth will advance your critical appreciation and understanding of the world. You can learn more about the development of writing, how the written word interacts with human society, and what it looks like in different settings, eras, and cultures. Through TUFW's study abroad programs, you can even do a little first hand research yourself in places such as London or Hong Kong. As an English Studies major you will also develop the practical skills of writing clearly and effectively, and gain experience with on-campus publications and chatting with the journalists, publishers, editors, and writers who speak in your classes.
