Department of Justice Studies

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. – Micah 6:8

The Criminal Justice major is designed to prepare students for the challenges of peacemaking in an often dangerous world. Justice and peace are critical elements in any society, and our former students are professionals serving literally around the world. Our alumni stand bravely "in the breech" serving as court officials, lawyers, law enforcement officers, probation officers, parole agents, corrections officials and social service personnel.

The Department of Justice Studies is dedicated to the professional fields of criminal justice, but Christ and His Spirit are the inner core of strength which allows a TUFW criminal justice alumnus to practice his/her craft with a proper mixture of justice and mercy. This justice calling will take shape at TUFW.

Prison Fellowship Ministries
Taylor University Fort Wayne is the only university in the nation providing a four-year, hands-on, learning partnership with Prison Fellowship Ministries for justice studies majors. This unique service learning opportunity began with the class entering in the Fall, 2004. Training and support will put TUFW students in the community ministering to the needs of inmate’s children as an integral part of the TUFW justice curriculum. Students will be well prepared through training and education to meet the demands of a career in justice.

In addition to the accredited traditional curriculum, TUFW Justice students also receive the following opportunities:

  • Development of a Christian worldview
