Course Description:  Explores the theoretical, technical and strategic elements of total quality management in healthcare, and includes a study of determinants to achieve quality management in healthcare facilities, utilizing analytical methods of systematic monitoring and evaluation.  Describes concepts and application of Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Total Quality Management (TQM).  Includes impact on quality of accreditations, credentialing, liability and governmental regulations.

COMPLIANCE: TRENDS AND ISSUES - 3 credit hours 
Course Description:  Examines the various elements of healthcare compliance, including: occupational safety, security, patient and employment confidentiality/data protection, audit, HIPAA, and internal code of conduct.

HEALTHCARE INFORMATION SYSTEMS - 3 credit hours
Course Description:  Overview of the purpose and role of information systems in healthcare, including information systems theory, systems analysis, implementation and usage of computer systems from a managerial/planning perspective in health management organizations, health data organizations, and other healthcare settings.
