Below are some common questions that students and parents ask regarding our Credits-in-Escrow (CIE) program here at Taylor University Fort Wayne. Hopefully some of your questions will be answered below!Can I earn dual credit?
Discuss this option with your Guidance Counselor. Certain TUFW courses will give you credit for both college and high school.
How do I apply?
You may apply online or download a printable copy to complete and send in. If you'd like us to send you a paper application, contact your Enrollment Counselor.
Your application will be reviewed once we receive your completed
Credits-in-Escrow application, Guidance Counselor recommendation and
high school transcript.
How many credits can I earn?
You may take up to two classes per semester (not to exceed 8 credit
hours). You may earn a maximum of 24 credit hours as a
Credits-in-Escrow student.
How much does it cost?
$50 per credit hour for the first 6 credits. If you choose to take 7 or
8, the additional credit(s) will be $250 per hour with an additional
$26 student activity fee.
Is there a fee to transfer my credit to other colleges?
If you do not enroll at TUFW as a degree-seeking student for at least
one semester after completion of CIE hours, a transcript fee of $250
will be assessed before the transcript is released. Note: Current CIE
students will not be assessed a transcript fee in the future.
What are the requirements to apply?
You must be at least 16 or in your junior or senior year in high
school. Your cumulative GPA must be at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
What classes can I take?
Any 100 or 200 level course is available to take through the CIE
program. Prerequisites and proficiency exams may be required for
certain courses. Course descriptions and schedules are available
online. Classes are offered both during the day and in the evening.
Will my credits transfer to other colleges?
Taylor University is regionally accredited by the North Central Association;
therefore, most college credits earned through TUFW will transfer to
other colleges. General education courses will transfer the best.
Contact the Registrar's Office at any intended college of transfer to
obtain specific details.
