Making the Transition Smoothly

This is your final step from high school to college – it’s a big one! While it’s an exciting time, we understand that it can also be filled with many uncertainties. Feeling comfortable with the change, getting to know new people, and starting out on the right foot are all things we want to help you accomplish. We do this during Welcome Weekend!

Welcome Weekend is the weekend right before fall classes begin. For new students, this annual event is the kick-off for the school year! Among the many activities throughout the weekend, you’ll be checking into your residence hall, meeting new friends and faculty, meeting your roommate, finding out about activities on campus, and attending the Dedication Service. Whether you’re a new freshman, transfer, or non-traditional student, this whirl of a weekend with events at every corner welcomes you to the TUFW community. The four day weekend actually begins on Thursday night for non-traditional students and welcomes traditional students on Friday afternoon. There will also be special programming for parents of traditional students. They are invited and encouraged to attend all Friday and Saturday morning sessions. Contact our office for more details.
