Homecoming Chapel begins the 2007 Homecoming & Parents' Weekend celebration with a bang! Join Chancellor Kilty, faculty, staff, alumni, students and parents in celebrating our heritage and our future as we "Press Toward the Goal."
Our guest speaker for Homecoming Chapel is the Rev. Matt Hartsell ‘81. Pastor Matt will be speaking from Philippians 3:13b-14 and proclaiming our theme, "Press Toward the Goal." Pastor Matt graduated with a BS from Fort Wayne Bible College and earned a Master's degree in psychology from Saint Francis University. He is licensed by the state of Indiana as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). Matt's ministry responsibilities are varied, which is just the way he likes it. In addition to counseling, he oversees a small group ministry, pre-marriage classes, marriage enrichment retreats, missions trips, mentoring ministries, "God Will Make A Way" ministries, "Christian Education for Adult" ministries; provides oversight for disaster relief ministries; and teaches Sunday school. Matt and his wife, Barb (Holtzclaw '80), have five children: Tricia, Joshua, Joel, Tiffani and Allyson.
Joining Pastor Matt in Homecoming Chapel is none other than Mr. Kevin Sowers '84. Kevin currently works in the IT department of Zimmer, Inc., in Warsaw. Kevin studied music performance and played in a student band named Rudisill Blvd as well as singing in a Christian service group of Fort Wayne Bible College. Kevin has recorded under the Myrrh Label with his band called "Rhythm House," accomplishing a #1 single on the CCM charts. Kevin has recently recorded three CDs under the pseudonym Floyd Elsewhere (available at http://www.purevolume.com/floydelsewhere) and will be performing an acoustical guitar solo. Kevin and his wife, Julie, have one daughter, Lauren.
