Donna M. (Lutton) Eicher
Donna M. (Lutton) Eicher, 90, of Fort Wayne, went to be with her Lord Friday, April 6, 2007, at Lutheran Home, Fort Wayne.
Born August 16, 1916, in Anderson, Indiana, she graduated from Anderson High School. She graduated from Nyack College, Nyack, New York, in 1948, and became a member of the staff for nine years. In 1957, she joined the staff of Fort Wayne Bible College (now Taylor University Fort Wayne) and served in several positions, including secretary, Dean of Women, and Director of Correspondence Studies, retiring from the latter position in 1982. On May 25, 1996, she married the Reverend Cyril H. Eicher, with whom she worked very closely during her tenure at the Bible College.
She is survived by her husband; niece, Nancy (Steven) Zirkle; nephews, Dr. Tom (Joyce) Robbins, James D. (Glenda) Lutton, Dr. Donald (Becky) Lutton, Tim, David, and Jon Lutton; and several great and great-great nephews; two stepsons, Larry (Marge) Eicher and Dr. Wendell (Pat) Eicher; six stepgrandsons; one stepgranddaughter; eleven step great-grandchildren; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Levi and Ruby Lutton; sister, Helen (Lutton) Robbins; and brothers, James Lutton and Leroy Lutton.
Funeral service is 1 pm Tuesday at First Missionary Church in Fort Wayne (701 W. Rudisill Blvd.), of which she was a longtime member, with viewing one hour prior to the service. Visitation also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm Monday at D.O. McComb & Sons Foster Park Funeral Home, 6301 Fairfield Ave. Burial is in Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson, with graveside service at 3:30 pm. Memorials may be made to Sunshine Network of First Missionary Church or Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home.
