When Mike Breedlove caught his first glimpse of his future wife during a snowstorm at Fort Wayne Bible College, he knew how to break the ice — with a snowball. "He nearly knocked me out," jokes Rachel Breedlove of that fateful day when Mike lobbed a snowball at her to get her attention. The snow melted, love bloomed, and the Breedloves were married.

After graduating in 1979, they moved to Michigan to work as youth leaders with Fairlane Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. A few years later, they left for North Carolina where Mike started the North Carolina Travel Magazine. He also owns Apple Creek Marketing which produces the Tennessee Traveler, Virginia Traveler and North Carolina Traveler.

Rachel does bookkeeping for Apple Creek Marketing and is also a patient liaison and insurance coordinator at Salem Plastic Surgery. Active in musical traveling groups in school, Rachel has continued developing her passion for music by directing her local church choir.

Mike recalls that "the individual attention professors gave students offers a distinct advantage. We both enjoyed the personal attention and dedication of the administration and faculty. They would invite us to their homes. You could go to them to talk. You were a person. If you had difficulty with something, they would help you. It was an awesome time."
