Bud Hamilton
Coach Hamilton is renowned for his strong work ethic and knowledge of the game. Bud is one of the brightest minds in college basketball and has demonstrated a strong commitment to the players he has coached over his tenure. He maintains communication with many of his former players who see him as a life-long teacher and mentor.
The NCCAA Region 3 named Bud "Coach of the Year" in 1992 and 2000. He also earned USCAA Division II "Coach of the Year" in 2006. Hamilton has established several seasons of at least 20 wins. In 1992, he coached the men's team to the regional championship, where they later finished seventh in the nation. In 2006, he lead the team to their second national championship in TUFW's history, finishing the season at 30-3. The men's basketball program has been a real catalyst for the athletic program at TUFW.
Despite barriers to recruiting, he has been able to consistently attract talented players to the program. Over his time he has been fortunate to coach many All-Region and All-American players. Many players have gone on to coach teams of their own. Bud is entering his 14th season as head coach for the Falcons and his 25th season overall coaching men's collegiate basketball.
Coach Hamilton also serves as the Athletic Director and Intramural Director. He is married to Pam Hamilton (alumnus) and has four children: Bobby (alumnus), Jamie (alumnus, Upland Campus), Todd, and Kim. His love for his family and students at TUFW is a wonderful testimony.
