Cleveland Inge

Cleveland Inge Coach Cleveland Inge, a 22-year veteran of the Fort Wayne Police Department, is currently a Detective in the Juvenile Division. Coach Inge was an instructor with the Fort Wayne Police Academy for three years where he taught Defensive Tactics. He served 11 years as an undercover Vice and Narcotics Detective, three years as a DEA Agent, three years on routine patrol and two of those years on the Emergency Service Team (SWAT).

Coach Inge is a former high school track coach, softball coach, Sunday school teacher and youth leader. He is currently a licensed basketball official and teaches self defense classes on the side.

With over 25 years of basketball coaching experience, Coach Inge brings a plethora of knowledge and enthusiasm for the game. His coaching career began with 12 years of middle school, coaching both girls and boys. This included organizing and directing numerous camps, clinics and tournaments.

Coach Inge was the head coach for the women’s program at Paul Harding High School for two years. He was the assistant coach at Concordia Lutheran High School for three years and the reserve head coach. He has coached several AAU summer teams and assisted in boys’ and girls’ summer basketball camps.

For the 2004-2005 season, Coach Inge was the assistant basketball coach for the women’s basketball team at the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne. Some of his duties included working with the post players, organizing the strength training and preseason conditioning, scouting and recruiting of potential student athletes, along with organizing and coaching two 17-and-under girls AAU teams.

Coach Inge’s coaching staff includes his wife, Jodi Inge, who has been his assistant throughout his career and Christin Easterhaus, one of his middle school players who also played for Taylor University (Upland). He has been happily married to Jodi for 25 years, and they have two children: Austin, who is 21 and Ashley, who is 19.

Coach Inge is excited about the opportunity to influence young lives, spread the word of God through coaching basketball at Taylor University Fort Wayne and thanks the Lord every day for placing him in such a wonderful environment.
