Jeff Phillips

Taylor University Fort Wayne men’s soccer coach is Jeff Phillips. Jeff begins his first season (fall 2007) at TUFW with 15 years of coaching experience under his belt. Coach Phillips brings a fresh new philosophy to this year’s team . . . "Soccer is a simple game. Do the fundamentals well and play an attacking hard nose defense all over the field and good things will happen. Offense wins games, but defense wins championships. You must out work and out think your opponents in all aspects of the game. This applies to all aspects of life, academic, character, teamwork and building the kind of men that will impact the lives of everyone they come in contact with that will glorify our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ."

Coach Phillips is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and holds both C and D United States Soccer Federation Licenses (USSF). Prior to his appointment at TUFW, Coach Phillips served as the women’s assistant coach at Indiana Tech for three years. Before that, he served as head coach at Elmhurst High School for four years. He has also coached travel soccer at many levels, as well as spending five years coaching in the Fort Wayne youth select high school and youth leagues.

Coach Phillips works for Grabill Cabinet Company, were he serves as the company’s purchasing and safety manager. He enjoys fishing, collecting baseball cards and any outdoor activity. He attends St. Joseph United Methodist Church and lives in Fort Wayne with his wife, Michele, and his daughters, Mackenzie and Aliza.
