Helping Specific Students

At Taylor University Fort Wayne, we are aware that alumni and friends who give and suggest specific students as recipients honestly desire to honor God with their resources and advance His Kingdom. At the same time, we desire to be above reproach in our integrity and responsibility to government guidelines. Therefore, please be aware of the following:

  • Although donors may suggest a specific student, TUFW must administer all gifts in accordance with government guidelines and TUFW’s financial aid policies. TUFW cannot be bound by the donor’s preference.
  • The student being suggested as a possible recipient may or may not receive the gift depending upon the student’s financial need as determined by government guidelines and TUFW's policies.
  • The student may receive only a portion of the gift and another student or students receive the remaining amount – again, determined by TUFW’s financial aid policies.
  • For any student, regardless of financial need, a donor may give and ask that the gift be applied directly to the student’s account, but a gift receipt cannot be issued to the donor.
