Campus Safety

Taylor University Fort Wayne’s Department of Campus Safety is staffed with personnel dedicated to the well-being of students, faculty, staff and guests. We understand the importance of community living and strive to make TUFW a place where peace of mind, regarding safety and security, enhances one’s ability to achieve individual goals of Christian excellence.

The Department of Campus Safety serves the TUFW family in a variety of ways by:

  • Conducting vehicular and foot patrols of university property
  • Providing safety escorts, upon request, for the university community and its visitors
  • Providing a class for both men and women on personal safety, which includes risk awareness and risk reduction
  • Overseeing the identification and card access systems
  • Managing the motor pool program
  • Administering the university parking program.

Campus Safety may be contacted by calling 260.744.8648 during the day for office related matters and #48888 late afternoons and evening for patrol officers. For life-threatening, or serious bodily injury, 911 should be called first.

The Department of Campus Safety also provides a great opportunity for student employment. We give preferential consideration to Criminal Justice majors, who are contemplating a justice or law enforcement career, but will consider any sincere student applicant with a desire to serve in this area.
