Discipleship Coordinators
Purpose: To monitor and enhance the spiritual environment in the assigned residence hall on campus, working with and encouraging student leaders, specifically RA's. To provide students with opportunities for community service participation.
Duties of Discipleship Coordinators:
- DC's encourage students to make seeking God a priority in life and to trust Him for the secondary things: Matthew 6:33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
- DC's exemplify and encourage students to follow God's greatest commandment: Matthew 22:37: "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
- DC's encourage the campus to develop a more committed and intimate relationship with Jesus Christ by:
PRAYER: Facilitate weekly prayer times within each residence hall. These meetings give students the opportunity to bear each others burdens and intercede on behalf of the student body as a whole.
WORSHIP: Plan Koinonia (corporate worship) time for the student body that takes place on the first Tuesday of every month.
SERVICE: Plan outreach events that give the students the opportunity to be "salt" and "light" in the city of Fort Wayne.
DEVELOPMENT: Developing relationships with students who are interested in growing deeper in their relationship with God. This cultivation takes place through informal fellowship time, accountability groups, Bible study, service projects and prayer time.
