Multicultural Awareness Council

What is MAC?

  • MAC is a student organization that intends to help students become educated with different cultures.
  • MAC meets as a committee weekly to pray, discuss issues within the campus and plan events to educate the campus about diverse issues.

Mission Statement

To create and organize co-curricular events and activities that promote awareness of multicultural issues in order to equip students for service and ministry of the Fort Wayne campus, community and world.

Programmed events include:

  • Interviews with students of varying cultures purposed to help students become aware of the diversity within TUFW campus.
  • Evening "coffee talks" allow students to learn more about different cultures. Professors and students alike have shared on topics such as homosexuality, race, ministry and missions' trips.
  • Multicultural dinner events to engage students in fellowship and education of a diverse culture. For example, an evening at an Amish restaurant or a distinguished Chinese dinner house.
  • Cultural tastes: The lunch menu is fashioned toward a specific culture while students who have recently experienced another culture through a mission trip have the opportunity to share their experiences with the student body.
  • Host fundraisers to benefit cultures in need in the Fort Wayne area.

MAC is always open to ideas from students and desires to best meet their needs to help them grow in their cultural awareness.
