Chapel Program

The Taylor University Fort Wayne community is committed to the value of our chapel program. It is the time for corporate worship, fellowship, spiritual growth and development of sensitivity to a worldwide view. Students, faculty and staff are expected to attend all chapels. Regular attendance is understood as a mature response to our community goals.

Speakers include campus personalities, community leaders and pastors, and outstanding guests from outside of our community. Students participate in music and leadership with our worship program. Along with our regular chapel sessions, we set aside several weeks during the year to emphasize particular themes by bringing in key leaders from around the world. Spiritual Renewal Weeks, early each semester, and World Opportunity Week, a week committed to worldwide missions, are examples of such chapel programs.

Chapel goals include:

  • Expressing our spirits in praise and adoration toward God through worship as a community
  • Presenting a time of edification of the body
  • Presenting a time of instruction in Christian living that supplements the classroom experience
  • Providing a model and incentive for Christ-likeness, an understanding of contemporary issues (both personal and social) and a practical grasp of our position in Christ
  • Providing insight, information and motivation toward fulfilling the Great Commission. Christian service should be the immediate, practical response.
  • Presenting a time of opportunity for commitment
