Spring Break Mission Trips

Purpose

To provide students with an opportunity to express their faith in tangible means through spring break mission trips in both the United States and around the world. Students are allowed to build relationships with people of other cultures while exercising their spiritual gifts and abilities.

How are teams selected?

Students are introduced to the various spring break mission trips in a ministry fair which is held during chapel in September. Teams are selected after students fill out an application form.

What are the financial costs?

Spring break teams raise the total cost of their projects through prayer letters, personal contributions and other fund-raising events. Contributions are tax-deductible and non-refundable. Students who agree to participate are responsible to share equally in the financial obligation of the outreach. If sufficient funds are not raised, it is the responsibility of the group to cover the expenses personally or to raise additional funds. Additional student expenses include passport fees, immunizations and personal spending money.

What type of activities are done on these trips?

Team activities vary from visiting various ministries which assist with the homeless in New York City to participating in evangelism, teaching, building and relating to people of other cultures. Students usually meet on a weekly basis after being selected to bond as a group and to train for their various ministries.

What countries have teams visited?

Teams have visited Jamaica, Ecuador, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Hawaii, and Mexico.
