Director of Residence Life
The Director of Residence Life serves in Student Development full-time, year round. This individual oversees the smooth functioning of each residential facility by coordination of the housing of students and supervision of the Resident Directors of each hall. The Director of Residence Life is responsible for developing and maintaining a Residence Life program that encourages growth and maturity through community building and educational activities.
Resident Directors
Each residence hall is overseen by a Resident Director (RD). RDs live in the residence hall and are responsible for overseeing the Residence Life program within that hall. The RD supervises Resident Assistants and/or Community Life Coordinators within their housing facility. Our Resident Directors have completed their Bachelor's Degree and are continuing their education through Taylor University's Master of Arts in Higher Education program. While serving as RDs at TUFW, they are receiving internship credit for their graduate program.
Resident Assistants and Community Life Coordinators
Living in each residential facility are student staff members know as Resident Assistants (RAs) or Community Life Coordinators (CLCs). RAs serve in Hausser Hall, Bethany Hall, and Ramseyer Hall. CLCs serve in the Lillian Rolf Home, Clyde Taylor House, and Oakwood Apartments. These students are upper classmen who are carefully selected on the basis of personal and spiritual maturity, leadership experience, and demonstrated ability to work with students one-on-one and in group settings. The RAs and CLCs are asked to be a resource for their residents and are accountable for maintaining an atmosphere that is conducive to growth and maturity. RAs and CLCs collaborate with campus departments and other student leaders to encourage holistic development and meet the needs of their residents through intentional activities that focus on the following areas of wellness: spiritual, emotional, intellectual, social, vocational, and physical. RAs and CLCs are trained to assume responsibility in the residence hall in the absence of the Resident Director.
