Residential Network (ResNet)

The Taylor University Fort Wayne Residential Network (ResNet) for students is part of Taylor Fort Wayne's campus-wide computer network and is provided and maintained by the Information Technology department. ResNet is more than just hardware; it is also a team of IT employees and students, residence hall directors, and RA's, all of whom are dedicated to helping you enjoy the full benefits of Taylor Fort Wayne's Residential Network. The purpose of this website is to provide a handy reference which will help you configure your computer for use on Taylor's ResNet.

The primary purpose of ResNet is to support the academic mission of the University by providing convenient access to online academic resources and the Internet. ResNet provides high availability and high-speed connectivity from every student's residence hall room. Hausser and Bethany Halls, as well as Oakwood Apartments, are networked wirelessly (802.11 g/b). The Clyde Taylor House and the Lillian Rolf Home are networked with Fast Ethernet cabling. Both connection types allows you access to electronic resources both on campus and around the world. These resources include the myTAYLOR portal (our gateway to campus and World Wide Web resources), the Taylor library online catalogs and reference systems, e-mail, and instructional software. Costs associated with ResNet are included in your housing fees, so there is no additional charge.
